OUR BACKGROUND

Originally from the Fingerlakes region of New York, Kevin Kleckler has lived in northwest Colorado since 1978. Kevin earned a BA in Industrial Technology with an emphasis in metallurgy from Western State College, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Grand Canyon University. After 30 years of teaching welding to high school students and adults, Kevin realized his dream of opening his own welding school in April of 2022, when the Colorado Welding Institute opened its doors.

In addition to being an award-winning teacher, Kevin is a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) through the American Petroleum Institute and the American Welding Society, as well as a Level II Welding Inspector through the American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT). He is also a Certified Welding Educator (CWE) through the American Welding Society. He has more than three decades of experience welding professionally and inspecting coal mines, power plants, railroads, pipelines and structural steel buildings ranging from $500,000 homes and $200 million luxury properties to $3 billion power plants.

Kevin and his wife, Carrie, have three children, two of whom are also certified welders!
